Faye and Rodney are two of the most amazing people I have ever met and their love story is one which I will never forget.
Rodney is a retired NBA player, who also dominated the court while playing for Wake Forest in the 90’s. He is an outdoors man who hunted, rode horses and drove big trucks. A motorcycle accident in 2008 paralyzed him from the neck down and changed his life.
Since the accident, Faye has never left his side, and said in a recent interview, “He wouldn’t have ever left me in the same situation, so I won’t ever leave him.”
The couple decided to have their wedding in December and naturally, it snowed…. a lot. Rodney spent the hours before the ceremony in his warm room watching TV and talking to friends on the phone. Meanwhile, Faye enjoyed some time at The Umstead Hotel getting her hair and make-up done.
Guests walked into a snow covered tent decorated with beautiful flowers by Fresh Affairs. Faye walked down the isle with her son to a smiling Rodney. The ceremony was powerful and memorable.
R&B music filled the space as dinner was served. Premier Catering did an amazing job with the food and service. It was a blessing and an honor for me to be there and I will never forget this wonderful couple.
