As a photographer I always look at the weather forecast prior to every wedding to see what’s in store. It looked like rain in Raleigh, which typically drives couples crazy, but not Kelly & Brent. They were easy going and cared about one thing…getting married.
Luckily, the North Carolina Museum of Art had a contingency plan in the event of rain. Rows of seats were placed inside the East East wing of the facility in preparation for guests. The guys were busy escorting people out of the rain and into the facility to stay dry. Guests were able to view the work of El Anatsui’s art as they waited for the ceremony to begin. Meanwhile, the anxious bride prepared for the ceremony just around the corner with her bridesmaids.
Thunder crashed outside, but everyone was dry and happy when they saw Kelly walk down the aisle with her father. The ceremony was perfect and everyone was smiling as the couple said their vows to one another. A strong kiss ended the ceremony while guests clapped. Kelly and Brent then made their way back up the aisle to an open area for another kiss. Family photos followed as guests made their way to the reception in the West Building.
The reception kicked off with finger foods and appetizers as light music played in the background. Steve with the Joe Bunn DJ company was just getting warmed up as guests mingled before the couple arrived for the first dance. The bride and groom arrived through the back door to a rousing reception crowd. They danced surrounded by their guests and ended the dance with a kiss. The music played nonstop and the dance floor was always packed. Everyone was having a great time dancing and talking under the fine art work of great artists from across the world.
Everything about this day was great. The food was great, the cake delicious, the photo booth was a hit, the location was perfect and Kelly and Brent had the best time. Congrats to you both and thank you for allowing me (Christobal) to be your wedding photographer!
