Weddings at The Carolina Inn are always a blast, but Megan & Chris’s was pretty amazing! I (Christobal) have been documenting weddings in the Raleigh / Chapel Hill area for a long time and this is one I will never forget.
It all started with some portraits and a first look with dad at The Franklin Hotel. Megan has a smile that is infectious and she was beaming as she walked toward her father. As they hugged in the hallway, someone said to them “congratulations,” as if they just got married. Dad could not stop laughing and said to the woman walking past them, “this is my daughter.”
We then headed over to the ceremony site for Megan’s first look with her nervous groom, Chris. Smiles turned to tears and hugs as they looked at each other. Hand written notes were exchanged, which led to another embrace.
The ceremony was perfect! Complete with an officiant, Perry Hardison, who provided a wonderful ceremony and a strong kiss by Chris to his bride. As they exited the ceremony, members of The Clef Hangers sang “Going to Carolina In My Mind,” beautifully.
Cocktail hour and family portraits were next leading us to the reception in the Hill Ballroom. The couple walked into the Hill Ballroom as the band played Barry White’s “Can’t get enough of your love,” for their first dance. Members of the Celebrity All-Star Band were a hit from beginning to end playing non-stop. They even played background music as the couple cut into a delicious cake by Cinda’s Creative Cakes. Let me tell you, it was delicious and so was the band. The dance floor was packed all night.
The couple exited the grounds to a flurry of confetti snow thrown by happy wedding guests. Classy Transportation’s beautiful Ivory Excalibur convertible provided their escape. A big shout out to Gina with A Southern Soiree for keeping everything flowing and happy!
Congrats Megan & Chris… you guys are amazing!
