Kathleen and I (Christobal) had the honor of being the wedding photographers for Meredith & Bobby. This wedding was on the calender for many in Raleigh apparently, because we actually heard people talking about it at our pool (in North Raleigh). The wedding was at theAngier Baptist Church and the reception followed over at The Grand Marquise Ballroom in Garner.
Before the ceremony, I hung out with the guys, while Kathleen caught up with the ladies before heading to the church. We had sunny skies, warm weather and a nice breeze for the couple on their big day. I knew I was in the right place when I pulled up to Bobby’s house to find a row of big trucks. All the guys were laughing and talking about good times while having a drink to calm their nerves.
The church was busy with activity as Shawn and her staff with Your Special Day kept everything in order. Flowers and candles were everywhere and I heard a comment that “they have never seen the church look this amazing.”
The sanctuary was packed to capacity as everyone watched Meredith walk down aisle in a stunning wedding dress with a beautiful trailing veil. You could see the look of joy as Bobby watched her walk toward him smiling. A huge floral arrangement acted as a beautiful backdrop for the couple during the exchanging of the vows. The ceremony was perfect in every way and ended with a ceremonial kiss.
Flowers on each pew led the bride and groom outside as they made their way to the white Rolls Royce waiting to transport them to the reception. Guests walked under arches covered with flowers to enter cocktail hour. Meanwhile, members of the Rocky Top Catering team were filling glasses of water and tea on every table.
Once the double doors were opened guests were treated to a sea of flowers. Each centerpiece, custom created by Fresh Affairs, was beyond amazing. A mixture of candles and spot lights illuminated the tables for guest to enjoy.
Meredith and Bobby were introduced to a standing ovation as they descended down the staircase to the dance floor. Everyone wanted to see the couple’s first dance as husband and wife. Immediately following the first dance was the father-daughter dance, which started with a slow country tune, but transformed into their rendition of the “evolution of dance.” Very entertaining.
A salad started the dinner followed by a lobster bisque, beef tenderloin as the main entree and an delicious four tiered cake by Sweet Memories. Heartfelt speeches and toasts followed leading to a grand reveal of the band in a tent a joined to the ballroom. DJ Mike Morse played the breaks and packed the dance floor. A great “Footloose” performance by the best man, which included the worm, was one of many highlights of the night.
The ice sculpture martini bar was a huge hit, along with the photo booth, from Shutter Booth, sitting next to big stage. Inkspot Crow created the video and we are definitely looking forward to viewing this wonderful wedding through their eyes.
A grand sparkler exit capped the perfect day for a wedding. There were tons of photos made, but we are only going to give you a tease. The images will be online within the next couple of weeks.
