Photographers know whenever a worm-off happens at a wedding reception, it was great day! Meaghan & Matt were married at The State Club in Raleigh on a beautiful Saturday with perfect weather for an outdoor wedding.
The day started with the guys relaxing, drinking beer, talking and watching television. Meanwhile, the ladies were up on the third floor preparing Meaghan with makeup and the final touches on her veil. According to Meaghan, the veil almost didn’t make it to the wedding due to being tossed in the trash twice. Apparently, it was wrapped up so well that a couple of people thought it was trash, but the bride always knew where to look.
Guests were escorted down the rose petal-lined aisle to their seats on the outdoor patio. Cameras were ready to welcome the bride as she walked down the aisle to her groom. A “quick ceremony” is what the couple wanted and they were married in under 25 minutes by their good friend who was the officiant. A quick kiss and a victorious smile ended the ceremony.
The first dance was to Louis Armstrong’s “La vie en rose.” The couple laughed and danced under the 40-foot ceilings in the Grand Ballroom. Dinner followed for the guests while jazz played in the background by Five Star Entertainment. Guests later found their way outside and over to the photo booth, which everyone enjoyed. Cake cutting followed and then dancing kept the party alive until the end of the night.
Oh and how could I forget the worm-off! Apparently it all started with two individuals having a conversation and then a challenge. A handful of people witnessed the event including myself. This was the first time I (Christobal) have ever seen two people do the worm at the same time on the dance floor at a wedding. Wow!
The night ended with a sparkler exit to a chauffeured vehicle taking the couple away to the honeymoon. Congrats Meaghan and Matt!
