There was a whole lot of hugging witnessed by this photographer at Astrid & Levon’s wedding at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary. It felt like yesterday when I chatted with Astrid and her family at the Bridal Show at the Fairgrounds in Raleigh and when Christine and I (Christobal) documented her brother’s wedding in Angier.
Astrid and Levon are a very loving couple, which I first experienced during their engagement portrait session. The day started off with the guys getting ready at the country club, while the ladies were at The Umstead Hotel. Each location was filled with smiles and anticipation of the ceremony. All hands were helping the bride as she slipped into her dress, meanwhile the guys popped open a bottle of champagne.
The ceremony site was beautiful with flowers lining the aisle leading Astrid to her groom. Levon raised his head high and closed his eyes to hold back the tears, to no avail. The ceremony was filled with smiles between the two and some tears. They exchanged vows, rings and embraced one another for their first kiss as husband and wife. The couple danced down the aisle only to share a few more celebratory kisses at the end of the ceremony.
We then headed outside for some portraits of the bridal party and the amazing couple. We didn’t stay out there long, because the focus was to get to the reception and get the party started. The reception was filled with hugging, tears, joy, laughter, delicious food and of course lots of dancing. The limbo even made an appearance for everyone to enjoy. DJ Frankie with Island Sound kept the dance floor packed. The couple left the reception amid a sparkler exit and more hugs.
It was a perfect day for a wedding for a wonderful couple. Congrats Astrid & Levon!
